Schubert is unusual and unique among composers in that some of his greatest works are written for piano duet. The Fantasie in F minor is the most celebrated of these pieces, with its austere yet heartbreaking opening melody and dramatic double fugue. The rest of the works on this disc are less well known but equally fascinating. Who better to commit these works to than two of the brightest stars in the British piano scene, Paul Lewis and Steven Osborne?
1. Allegro D 947 A-moll ((Lebensstürme Op. Ph. 144) Für Klavier Zu 4 Händen) - (00:15:35)
2. Andantino D 348 C-dur (Fragment Für Klavier) - (00:09:13)
3. Fugen D 952 (e-moll, Für Orgel (Klavier) Zu 4 Hd.) - (00:03:30)
4. Rondo D-Dur Op. 138 D 608 (für Klavier Zu 4 Händen) - (00:11:56)
5. Variationen Für Klavier Zu 4 Händen / Variationen Für Klavier Zu 4 Hd. D 813 (As-dur, Über Ein Originalthema Op. 35) - (00:17:32)
6. Finale - (00:18:18)
