The Romantic Piano Concerto series was born sometime in 1990. This first volume, of concertos by Moszkowski and Paderewski, was recorded in June 1991.None of us involved then could ever have imagined that the series would run for over thirty years, with eighty-seven volumes to its credit. Piers Lane's blistering renditions of the two concertos set the tone for what was to come, offering 'unassailable technical qualifications, state-of-the-art sound and a first-rate orchestra' (Fanfare, USA ).
