The Bite That Grows Up is a ferocious, emotionally charged album by Great Falls that fuses **sludge metal**, **noise rock**, and **hardcore** into a dense, abrasive sound. Across roughly forty minutes, the Seattle trio pushes crushing low-end riffs, dissonant guitar work, and harrowing vocals into compositions that feel both suffocating and cathartic, with a strong post-metal and noise influence shaping the atmosphere. The record captures a sense of relentless tension and existential unease, emphasizing dynamics that move from lurching, dirgelike passages to explosive outbursts. The album’s tracklist underscores its thematic weight and musical variety. Cuts like A Small Weakness and Pinned Against Time open the record with disorienting, anxious energy, while Worse Than Sleep and Hailstone Numbers deepen the sense of grinding dread. Nicotine In The Spine stands out as a centerpiece, combining the band’s heaviest tendencies with haunting vocal interplay, and later songs such as Debt Ethics and Buildings Full Of Rope extend the album’s narrative of moral strain and psychological collapse, before What No One Can Give closes on a desolate, worn-down tone. Released in 2026, The Bite That Grows Up presents Great Falls at their most intense and unflinching, an album steeped in bleak emotion yet meticulously constructed in its noise-soaked brutality.
