Psychohazard is the second full-length album by Polish band Cursebinder, a group known for fusing extreme metal with experimental and psychedelic elements. The album can be broadly placed in the black metal spectrum, but it stretches the genre with hazy atmospheres, jazz-tinged passages and an introspective, almost cinematic flow. Across its eight tracks, Psychohazard explores the tension between the suffocating pace of urban life and the human longing for love, connection and meaning, focusing on raw, conflicted emotional states rather than traditional occult or mythological themes. The sound is both aggressive and fluid: demolishing riffs dissolve into drifting, psychedelic sections, while layered rhythms create a sense of disorientation that fits the album’s title and concept.Psychohazard was released in 2026 on CD through Avantgarde Music and presents Cursebinder as a band sharpening their identity and ambition compared to their debut. Songs such as The Astronaut, Toxic Current and Fangdriller: Scars Beneath Memory’s Wrist show the range of the record, moving from pummeling, riff-driven assaults to more atmospheric, exploratory segments. The Astronaut in particular encapsulates the band’s approach, juxtaposing dense, extreme metal intensity with spacious, almost dreamlike interludes. Overall, Psychohazard is a modern, genre-blurring black metal album that balances ferocity with introspection, inviting listeners into a vivid, unsettling psychological landscape.
