Fatum Est is a CD release by Italian trio Janvs, situated in the realm of progressive black metal with avant-garde elements. The record continues the band’s evolution toward more intense and ferocious atmospheres, building on the path laid by their earlier work. Each song is rooted in Hellenic myths and figures, reworked into an existential and intimate vision that explores beauty, death, and cosmic emptiness. The release year is 2026, marking Janvs’s return after a long period of silence, with production and mastering handled by Dan Swanö and issued through Avantgarde Music. The album presents a cohesive narrative through its tracks, with pieces such as Bucefalo, Filo d’Arianna, and Argonauti forming a journey across classical imagery and modern introspection. The music blends harsh black metal foundations with progressive structures, atmospheric passages, and a sense of dramatic tension that reflects the themes of fate and defiance of the gods. As a compact disc edition, Fatum Est offers a focused, concept-driven listening experience that reinforces Janvs’s reputation for thoughtful, emotionally charged extreme metal.
