Ferruccio Busoni was the pioneer who kicked off a craze for transcribing Bach for the piano which continues to this day. These are mighty re-imaginings, utilizing the full range of pianistic sonorities to recreate the sound and effects of the organ, here astonishingly rendered by Nikolai Demidenko and his Fazioli: 'Demidenko plays them all with great panache and limitless technical command, clearly relishing the vast array of colour that Busoni's fertile imagination encourages' (The Guardi an).
